Exit Stage Right

3,000 mile hop and a skip to the West.

Where would we be if we took a hop and a skip about 3,000 miles to the West of India? If you guessed Lebanon you would be correct! New regulations require that we exit India every 6 months and this time we shall exit stage right changing an obstacle into an opportunity! This exit the entire family is going to Lebanon to team up with a group of 50 people coming from our home partners in the US. We will assist and encourage them as we help to transform lives among the needy, children and refugees. LaVonne and the kids will be involved with VBS and children’s work, while Brian will be working with computer and technology needs. We are taking 2 weeks of our vacation time (Jun 21 - Jul 8) so we do not interrupt our primary work in India.

Lebanon has over 4.1 million people located in the Middle East, bordering the Mediterranean Sea, between Israel and Syria. A 15 year civil war (between 1975 and 1991) decimated their economy and infrastructure not to mention the strain of the thousands of Palestinian refugees and more recent Iraqi refugees.

This will be an exciting time for our whole family as we will be encouraging our children to fully engage in the work. We hope you will actively participate with us through prayer for safety and effectiveness to help transform lives and meet social, intellectual, physical and spiritual needs.

Last month's VBS was a great success and 10 children's lives were changed forever. We made great connections with them and laid the foundation for the future. We continue to experience water problems. Drought in the area, in addition to continual trouble with our bore-well pump. High temperatures are averaging over 104 degrees Fahrenheit (Today is 108). Fortunately the power is more stable this year and the A/C's are still working.

We are so blessed to have such a supportive network of friends and family like you to encourage us in our work and remember us in prayer as we take a brief exit to be a blessing as He leads.

Until All Have Heard,

Brian, LaVonne, Josiah, Emily & Noah
